About this event

Gund Coffee Talk

Join the Gund Institute for Environment community for a warm beverage while Sandi Dincki, a master's student in plant and soil science, discuss their research. Coffee and tea starts flowing at 10 a.m. The talk will begin at 10:15 a.m.

About the talk: Sandi will explore whether legumes, the "slow-runners" of the Green Revolution, are a viable solution for improving food security and soil health.

About the speaker: Sandi Dincki is a master's student in UVM's Agriculture, Landscape and Environment program. A graduate research assistant with the Crop Genetic Heritage Laboratory, Dincki is interested in how legume crops, particularly faba beans, can be leveraged to prevent food insecurity and improve soil health. My research projects include the use of high tunnels for winter crops and the benefits of mixing species, genus, or varieties of legumes for summer crops.
