- ➤ Dear Lucy, the popular shoe and handbag boutique on Church Street Marketplace will close in the coming weeks, as a sale offering merchandise at 50-75% off begins today. ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ According to the U.S. Energy Information Administration, gas prices in New England fell to $2.85 per gallon on Monday — a decrease from last week’s $2.87 — and remain about 1.9% higher than the national average. Burlington Free Press
- ➤ Unemployment claims in Vermont fell to 518 for the week ending Jan. 3, down from 914 the previous week, according to the Labor Department report published Thursday, Jan. 8 - while overall U.S. claims rose to 208,000. Burlington Free Press

- ➤ Registration for Community Sailing Center's youth camp lottery is open until Jan. 12 with a waitlist email coming between Jan. 20 and Jan. 22; camp selections will be emailed from Jan. 23 to Feb. 2 (general registration starts Feb. 3 for those not selected). Burlington Free Press
- ➤ The Colchester School District cancelled classes yesterday at Colchester High, Colchester Middle and Mallett's Bay Middle after a water main break along Lakeshore Drive cut water in parts of town — forcing early dismissal and bus rides for students while other schools stayed open. NBC5
