  • Fletcher Free Library is hosting two free expert talks (5:30 p.m.) at its College St. campus. The first event is today with former UVM President Tom Sullivan discussing his new book on presidential power, and the second on March 10 features author Susan Kaplan on environmental health.  Burlington Free Press

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Savu will begin work on an 8,000 sqft bathhouse on Flynn Avenue this fall after its standalone saunas succeeded since 2021. An open house is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 26 (4 to 8 p.m.) across from City Market.  Seven Days

CULTURE NEWS

  • VT Rep Theatre is staging a Chekov play from Feb. 28 to Mar. 6 — the production highlights growing local interest in classic theater for modern audiences.  Burlington Free Press

EDUCATION NEWS

  • On Feb. 13, elementary students at the Schoolhouse Learning Center in South Burlington participated in the FFF program, which offers three hours of outdoor hands-on science and gardening to explore local wetlands and food origins. Next week they will travel to the Tunbridge campus for a similar outdoor learning experience.  NBC5

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • An immigration judge terminated removal proceedings against Mohsen Mahdawi — a Palestinian student activist — after his attorneys challenged documents from Marco Rubio. The ruling preserves his rights, though the government may appeal the decision.  NBC5

HEALTH NEWS

  • A Becker's Hospital Review report found Vermont had the ninth-longest emergency room wait time (185 minutes) compared with a national average of 161 minutes, based on data from 2024 published last November.  Burlington Free Press

SPORTS NEWS

  • Vermonter Mac Forehand, (from Winhall), won silver Tuesday in the Men's Freeski Big Air Final at the 2026 Winter Games and narrowly lost to Sweden’s Tormod Frostad, making him only the second American to medal in the event.  NBC5
  • Olympic silver medalist Ben Ogden discussed his cross-country sprint at Milano Cortina on The Sports Rapport this week, while freeski star Mac Forehand and Vermont Green FC co-founder Patrick Infurna explained the club's new ticket lottery (designed to meet high demand).  Vermont Public
