- ➤ On March 14, two Burlington Free Press reporters—Brent Hallenbeck and Megan Stewart—won second-place awards in a New England journalism contest for coverage of culture and community issues. - ➤ Big Heavy World, a nonprofit that supported local music for three decades, dissolved as its founder left in 2023 & its treasured archives of instruments and memorabilia moved into storage. - ➤ Gas prices in New England rose on Monday as the average regular price increased to $3.73 per gallon from $3.54 last week (traders point to elevated risk from the Iran war and rising spring demand) and analysts expect another 20-30 cent increase soon. Burlington Free Press

Bernie Sanders announced winners of his 16th annual State of the Union Essay Contest for Vermont high school students, selecting three winners and 12 finalists from 418 participants across 30 schools.
