  • Jarrett House, the Howard Center program for children in mental health crises, will close on June 30 due to staffing shortages that limit care to five days a week instead of the needed 24/7 support. The center will offer support to affected staff during the transition.  NBC5

  • Sciatica: The Burlington Marathon Band is set to play a five-hour set to boost runners during Marathon Sunday at the Vermont City Marathon as the course passes twice through Lakewood Estates in Burlington's North End — the band, which started with minimal music experience, carries a long-standing local tradition.  NBC5
  • Graduate student Maddie Erskine scored two decisive goals in the third quarter to help Vermont win 10-7 over UMBC on Friday, May 1 in the America East semifinals in Burlington. The team will play in the championship game on Sunday, May 3 at Virtue Field.  Burlington Free Press
  • Four Vermont swimmers from Williston, Essex Junction, Poultney, and Middlebury are in the final training phase — the Path to the Podium — for the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games in Minnesota from June 20 to June 26.
