- ➤ Burlington School District communications specialist Russ Elek was named New England School Communicator of the Year today by the New England School Public Relations Association (the regional chapter for school communication professionals). - ➤ The Vermont Senate will vote on an education consolidation amendment tomorrow in Montpelier that could make school redistricting voluntary and delay a new finance system until FY 2030. Lawmakers say local voters will have a role in deciding school district mergers if the amendment passes. NBC5

- ➤ Researchers from the U.S. Forest Service and The Nature Conservancy are testing disease resistant American elms (once common) at a 28 acre Benson orchard to boost biodiversity and flood resilience.
