- ➤ A Vermont woman was seriously injured when a Hudson resident's boat struck a floating swim platform at Robinson Pond on Monday, July 24 at about 3:04 p.m.—she was airlifted to a hospital after being thrown from the boat. MyChamplainValley.com

- ➤ The Vermont Gallium-Nitride Tech Hub received $3.4 million from the Northeast Microelectronics Coalition to fund a testing lab for GaN devices in South Burlington. - ➤ Gasoline prices in Vermont averaged $3.09 per gallon while Burlington stations reported an average of $3.10 per gallon today, down 1 cent and 3.5 cents from last week, respectively. - ➤ The Boys & Girls Club of Burlington awarded more than $100,000 in scholarships to 40 club members on July 16 for their academic achievements. - ➤ Violet Nichols resigned as superintendent at a special meeting on July 22 after the board unanimously accepted her letter amid months of pressure from the teachers' union—she will step down on August 1 while the board begins its search for a replacement. Burlington Free Press
