- ➤ Church Street was filled with music on Friday as young performers from the Green Mountain Chamber Music Festival brought the first-ever Mini Quartet Hop downtown — the event showcased chamber music inside local shops and marked a new tradition in the 21-year program. - ➤ The Agency of Agriculture, Food & Markets announced a Healthy Food Financing Initiative fund to increase healthy food access with at least $9 million for grants, $1.5 million for technical assistance, and $16 million for loans; inquiry forms for grants must be received by August 18th and technical assistance forms by September 1st while loan applications are ongoing. UVM Extension will host a pasture walk at Northwind Farm on August 14th (to show low-input dairy production) and Vermont Farm to Plate is accepting breakout session proposals by August 15th for its gathering at Burke Mountain Resort. - ➤ Vermont's Agency of Education is preparing for the new 2025—2026 school year after a July freeze on $6 billion in education funding threatened to cut $26 million in state funds.
