  • Breeze Airways will offer a 35% discount on new round-trip bookings made by September 5 for travel from September 10 to January 31—travelers should note there are blackout dates and other restrictions to follow.  VermontBiz
  • Burlington paused downtown construction two weeks ago by opening Main Street on nights and weekends to help local businesses but owners say morning revenue has dropped by 20 to 30% from last year + city leaders explained the change is part of a plan to improve downtown accessibility and that the project will last into 2026.  NBC5
  • VMEC will host a series of fall events for Vermont manufacturers—ranging from Advanced Manufacturing Day on Oct 16 at Generator Makerspace to Lean workshops in Rutland on Sept 24, another session in Brattleboro on Oct 29, a Quality Conference in Burlington on Sept 15 to 16, and a leadership training program starting early November—with options for in-person or virtual participation at fees of $98 or $375 per person.  VermontBiz
  • Milton officials are in talks with Amazon as the company appeals Essex’s rejection of a 107,000 square foot distribution facility — officials note that Milton’s location near Interstate 89 and Route 7 makes it a strong match. CRIME NEWS

  • Defendants Isaiah Argro (26) from Queens and a 16-year-old from Colchester pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder charges and were held without bail in connection with the mob-style beating of Scott Kastner (who suffered a severe brain bleed and died five days later) on Aug. 11.  VTDigger
  • Stephen Loewe, 43, was sentenced on August 29 to 45 months in prison after pleading guilty to straw purchasing 19 firearms and robbing 3 banks in Springfield and Putney.  VermontBiz
