  • Survivors of St. Joseph's Orphanage gathered Friday in Kieslich Park to unveil a memorial built after years of planning to honor those who suffered past abuse. The memorial features a black locust archway (designed by Clay Mohrman) and engraved boulders with messages from survivors, and it was funded by the state, the city, and local donors.  Seven Days

  • BETA Technologies and GE Aerospace are partnering to build a hybrid electric turbogenerator for defense and civil planes & the new system will power advanced air mobility aircraft such as long-range Vertical Takeoff and Landing vehicles. GE Aerospace invested $300 million and will appoint a board director as the companies work to lower operating costs and improve plane range and speed.  NBC5

  • Teresa Youngblut, 21, pleaded not guilty on Friday to murder and related charges after fatally shooting a Border Patrol agent during a Jan. 20 traffic stop in Coventry—prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty as she remains in prison.  Vermont Public

  • The South End Art Hop returns this weekend with over 125 locations along Pine Street from Maple Street to Burton, featuring a Friday night fashion show, Saturday kids hop and family fun, and Sunday time for browsing artwork—organizers stress safety and accessibility after last year's Triple E concerns.   • Forestry officials say Vermont trees remain healthy despite dry conditions, though drought may bring early color changes in some areas—experts use a fall foliage tracker to rate conditions across northern New England.
