Good morning, Burlington.
At Shelburne Museum, three Norman Rockwell paintings were donated by Polycor, Inc.—a company that owns Rock of Ages granite quarry—and have been on display since May, showing his ties to Vermont.
Next summer the museum will open an exhibit titled Norman Rockwell: At Home in Vermont that features additional works by the famous artist.
The Young Writers Project published a new entry called 'Truth telling' by 16-year-old Ursa Goldenrose from Hardwick—accompanied by Burlington artist Amelia Van Driesche’s artwork 'Ocean Eyes.' The online community, started in Burlington in 2006, offers a free platform for teen writers and visual artists to share their work.
The Vermont Agency of Transportation plans road construction this week that will cause lane shifts, reduced speeds, and temporary closures on major highways such as I-89, I-91, and U.S. routes across Colchester, Fairlee, Brattleboro, and other towns.
Crews will work during both daylight and nighttime hours, and some projects are paused on Monday due to the holiday—motorists should plan extra travel time and follow detour signs.
