  • Lost Lantern in Vergennes announced its Fall 2025 Scotch Lovers’ Collection of American single malts aimed at inviting Scotch drinkers to try traditional whiskey profiles, and the collection features seven unique releases made with traditional methods. The collection will be available starting November 12th via select retailers and the Lost Lantern Tasting Room — a collaboration with over 40 U.S. distilleries — highlighting the brand’s commitment to authentic craftsmanship.  VermontBiz

CULTURE NEWS

  • Louise Penny held a sold-out talk on November 1 at the Haskell Free Library and Opera House in Derby Line where she discussed her new novel The Black Wolf, which imagines Canada as the 51st state after canceling her other U.S. stops amid tariff threats. Her talk continues today and a portion of ticket proceeds will fund updates to the library’s Canadian-only entrance—highlighting the event’s symbolic role in cross-border unity.  Vermont Public

ECONOMY NEWS

  • On October 31, the Vermont Agency of Agriculture reported that the Pizzagalli Family Farm Fund donated $5,000 to the Vermont Farm Fund to honor all Vermont farmers facing tough drought conditions as fantastic, and the fund is set to support award programs—like barn painting and milk awards—and boost low interest loans expected to top $700,000 for farms before year end.  VermontBiz

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • The first weekend of November offered a mix of local events – on November 1, Burlington hosted the BIPOC Artist Market and Dance Party while Tunbridge held a Day of the Dead Taco Night and Malone celebrated Hometown Hero’s Day; today, a Haunted Halloween Tour near Keeseville, a circus festival in Brattleboro, and a 10 Miler race in Stowe are set to bring community fun. Cooler, blustery weather with valley rain and mountain snow showers prevailed earlier, but warmer, drier conditions will return early next week as temperatures climb into the 50s.  NBC5

  • On Nov. 1, 2025, the CVU girls soccer team retained its Division I championship with a 5-2 win over Colchester at Virtue Field. First-year coach Kelly Knudsen led the team to set a scoring record in the final—adding their 22nd state title.  Burlington Free Press
