  • UPS will host a job fair in Burlington to hire over 50 seasonal workers as holiday demand grows—offering roles as package handlers and delivery drivers with pay from $21 to $35 per hour and the chance for full-time work.   • U.S. Senator Peter Welch joined Senators Susan Collins and Lisa Blunt Rochester today to reintroduce the bipartisan Farm to School Act — a bill that will raise funding, ease grant requirements, and expand the use of fresh local foods in schools.  VermontBiz
  • This week, many Vermont communities will honor veterans with events that include town hall meetings, parades, and ceremonies ahead of Veterans Day on November 11.   • On Friday, the state sent nearly $6 million in replacement food benefits to 36,000 SNAP households to help counter federal payment pauses due to the shutdown & ongoing legal rulings. The Vermont Emergency Board will reconvene by Nov. 13 to decide if further state action is needed.  VTDigger

  • Vermont’s field hockey season ended in a double overtime loss as New Hampshire won the America East championship 1-0—Nicole Poulakis scored the decisive goal that gave the Wildcats their first title since 2013.
