- ➤ On Saturday, Dec. 6, the 11th annual Troy’s Toy Drive brought unwrapped toys to Albert D. Lawton School in Essex Junction as families, students & community members donated gifts for every child. Leader Troy Austin, who started the drive over a decade ago, said it unites neighbors. NBC5
- ➤ This weekend, communities across Vermont and the North Country host multiple holiday events. In Manchester, the Winter Bazaar runs from 10 A.M. to 4 P.M. at the Community Library while a Craft Show runs from 9 A.M. to 3 P.M. & parades and parties are planned in nearby towns. NBC5
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Vermont lights up this holiday season with five must-see Christmas light displays. Guests can visit Shelburne Museum, Maple Street Park, VINS Nature Center in Quechee, Joseph Smith Birthplace and Spruce Peak Village in Stowe, where events run through early January with drive-around tours, treats and live music. - ➤ Gov. Phil Scott moved ahead with the school district merger plan even after a task force recommended only voluntary mergers. He said state officials will form a new redistricting group to meet Act 73's requirements following expert reviews. Burlington Free Press
