About this event
Vermont Hands & Voices will host a monthly Playgroup & Story Time on 2nd Sundays, 3-5 pm, November through April (Nov 8, Dec 14, Jan 10, Feb 14, Mar 14, Apr 11) at the ECHO Center, 1 College Street in Burlington Free admission and ECHO Science Center family pass for all participants thanks to ECHO’s Open Doors partnership with VT Hands & Voices!
This monthly meetup is intended to build community among families with a deaf or hard of hearing child and encourage language learning for young children who are learning sign language and/or spoken English. Sessions will be led by Leslie Johnson (Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing), Darcie Matthews (Sign Language Instructor), and Lisa Allen (Educational Interpreter).
We will have: developmentally appropriate games that foster fun and communication songs with rhyme and rhythm in sign language and English stories to support language development toys and books for informal play light snacks
