- ➤ NY-based comedian Mohanad Elshieky performed at 6:30 p.m. on Friday at Vermont Comedy Club and will perform at 6:30 p.m. + 8 p.m. today as part of his four-set visit to entertain Burlington audiences. Burlington Free Press
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ A Vermont report from the 2024-25 school year finds many students did not reach math or English targets and more than half of schools fell below standards. Gov. Phil Scott + education leaders say reforms must boost learning outcomes and close equity gaps. VTDigger
- ➤ Vermont auditor Doug Hoffer released a report on Thursday showing that 70% of public schools completed the mandated radon testing while 68 schools are still pending. Among 218 tests, 20 exceeded safe limits with Burlington’s Sustainability Academy recording a level of 13.6 (above the EPA action level). NBC5

- ➤ State Treasurer Mike Pieciak and supporters plan for Vermont to join ArrayRx, a prescription discount card used by five states to lower drug costs and save about $18 million a year. The bill, introduced by Reps. Black & Berbeco, passed two committees and now moves to Appropriations. VTDigger
- ➤ The Vermont Supreme Court ruled Tunbridge can maintain public trails crossing private property, ending a seven-year legal dispute with local landowners and affecting about 500 miles of trails. The decision upholds a state law that protects public access to these paths. Vermont Public
