- ➤ Dozens of sugarhouses open their doors this weekend to let locals and visitors learn how maple syrup is made and taste the syrup. Allison Hope of the Vermont Maple Sugar Makers’ Association said the event aims to bring the community together — offering hands-on insight into sustainability and local agriculture. NBC5
- ➤ Burlington celebrates maple season today with 2026 Maple Madness on Church Street from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., featuring live music, axe throwing, fire pits & a free bingo card from Vermont Flannel that enters you in a raffle for a full year of maple syrup. NBC5
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Friday, Burlington's future doctors celebrated Match Day at UVM Medical Center at a Western-inspired event where 118 medical students learned their residency placements in 18 specialties, with eight matching locally and the rest across the country. The event marked a key step in starting their careers as doctors. NBC5
- ➤ The Frog and Toad Child Care and Learning Center will close next week while state investigators review allegations, officials said. The center is located on Gosse Court in the New North End. NBC5

- ➤ A federal judge ruled that Camila Patin Patin was unlawfully detained during a federal immigration raid in South Burlington and released her Friday + a cheering crowd gathered outside downtown Burlington.
