- ➤ Friday night’s fire on Lime Kiln Rd displaced more than 50 seniors from their homes in South Burlington. The Red Cross took the residents to the Tarrant Center on Saint Mike’s campus and then to a hotel, providing debit cards & comfort kits as community organizations work on finding long-term housing. - ➤ Lawson’s Finest Liquids earned Vermont’s only medal at the 2025 World Beer Cup on May 1 in Indianapolis—its Fayston Maple Imperial Stout won a Silver Medal in the British-Style Imperial Stout category. - ➤ Twenty-four states joined groups in a lawsuit challenging Vermont’s climate superfund law that taxes fossil fuel companies for past climate damages, arguing that federal law preempts state action.
