- ➤ Vermont lawmakers last week passed a law that will cap specialty drug prices at hospitals at 120% of the manufacturer’s average sales price — a measure expected to save BlueCross BlueShield of Vermont roughly $46 million a year but one that hospital leaders warn could force some institutions to limit services such as infusion centers. Hospital officials have noted that the cap may lead to losses of up to $80 million annually, prompting appeals to the Green Mountain Care Board for reimbursement adjustments if patient care is affected.
