GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Burlington City Council voted 9-2 Monday night on a resolution to boost safety and enforce rules in City Hall Park—responding to concerns over rising drug use and a decline in family visits. - ➤ Burlington city leaders approved a resolution to boost police presence in City Hall Park (a key public space) after an assault on Aug. 11 resulted in a fatality. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ The Vermont Department of Health reported that COVID-19 levels declined last week with few hospitalizations and low virus findings in most wastewater tests—only Essex Junction showed slightly higher levels and no deaths were recorded. A new RSV immunization has lowered infant hospital admissions at UVM Medical Center, and future COVID reports will track hospital and emergency data instead of case counts. VermontBiz
