- ➤ Lightshift Energy and KeyBanc Capital Markets closed a $75 million loan deal to support six active battery projects and ten more under construction, including a project with GlobalFoundries in Vermont that will be the state's largest battery storage facility when it starts in 2026. - ➤ Hollywood actor Luis Guzmán, known for his role as Gomez Addams on Netflix, was interviewed by NBC5 In Depth where he said he first connected with Vermont in the 1970s during a trip to Goddard College—he now proudly calls Vermont home and noted the end of National Hispanic and Latin Heritage Month. - ➤ The Department for Children and Families said new federal rules now require Vermont to pause issuing 3SquaresVT benefits because of the government shutdown. - ➤ Abenaki leaders in Canada released a report claiming that Vermont Abenaki tribe members are mostly of European descent based on thousands of documents from the 1600s to the 1900s.
