- ➤ Susan Sweetser is urging community members to sponsor $17 wreath donations to honor Vermont veterans this holiday season as the drive aims to collect 6,500 wreaths; Shaw’s Supermarkets is sponsoring the effort. - ➤ Ginny's Scholarship has been launched in memory of Virginia (Ginny) Sweetser, a Vermont native and U.S. Army veteran who earned a master's in social work after serving abroad and who died in December 2020 after battling PTSD. - ➤ Green Mountain Job Retention Program entered its third year by awarding $845,000 to 169 graduates who stayed in Vermont and now plans to add 300 more eligible students if they live and work full time in the state—applications are open until December 1.
