John Killacky, the artist who ran for eight years before serving two terms in the Vermont House, died Monday, Nov. 2. He was 74.

At the Flynn, he welcomed low-income and neurodivergent audience members into the Burlington theater. Former colleagues said he came to Montpelier with a desire to improve Vermonters' day-to-day lives and a fire to protect their rights.
