Burlington's fall clean sweep is underway, and tonight it's the New North End's west side

If you park on the street in Burlington, move your car on your zone's night. The city's second annual fall clean sweep is underway, with crews sweeping overnight in every neighborhood. Tonight, Thu., Nov. 5, it's Zones B and H, the west side of the New North End.

  • Hours: 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. the next day
  • Downtown (Zone F): midnight to 6 a.m.
  • Cars left on the street are towed to a nearby city lot
  • Downtown and Marketplace Garages: free on your zone's sweeping night

Operation Clean Sweep has a bigger job than tidy curbs. City officials said it's a vital part of water quality work: it keeps Lake Champlain clean and limits flooding from clogged storm drains. The Department of Public Works webpage has a street-by-street breakdown of each zone, and we'd check it before you park tonight.

Sweepers work overnight, with Downtown on a shorter shift
